Well, look no further than Edmonds & Co in Newcastle’s bustling East End. With the days lasting longer and the sun beaming late into the afternoon, you've got all the reasons to keep the good times rolling!
Afternoon catch-ups become a social staple over the Summer months in Newcastle, and we know we love kicking back, relaxing and enjoying good company, but why not enjoy some good food and drinks whilst you're at it?
With a fresh ocean breeze coming right off of Newcastle Beach, Edmonds & Co is the perfect spot to continue those long Summer days.
Owners of the space, Kai and Amy have really added some extra love and life into the area since opening in August 2019 and are keen to get people to enjoy the East End not just for coffee, but for dinner and drinks too!
Sticking with their relaxed café vibes, and carrying them on into the evening, Edmonds & Co will come to life with nothing but good food, good drinks, and good company. With Soul Cafe's Friday Chill kicking off for the year on Jan 10, we can think of no place better to spend our Friday evenings this Summer!
So, what exactly can you expect from the menu?
The uncomplicated and divine menu is brimming with lots of fresh seafood options as well as some easy share plates, local favourites, and of course, the daily specials board.
Starting with two easy favourites, we got our hands on the Cheese & Cured Meats board and serving of the Parmesan Arancini Balls. Whilst cheese boards have become a staple go-to for share plates, Edmonds & Co have served up something quite unique with their house-made onion chutney that is absolutely to-die for, paired with a selection of cured meats, cheese, olives and to top it off; pear.
The ‘something more’ section of the Edmonds & Co evening menu has a distinct Seafood focus, but with a little something for everyone. The Mussels were our top pick from the menu; just look at those colours! A close second would have to have been the Squid, served with salad, chips and sriracha aioli.
With all the seafood on the menu selected daily from the Newcastle Fish Market, you can order knowing it’s going to be some of the tastiest, freshest seafood in town.
Edmonds is also now stocking some exciting beers that Newcastle may not have seen before from a small brewery in Wellington, New Zealand; Garage Project. If you're not a huge beer drinker, I would recommend giving the White Mischief a try, speaking from experience; it was a HUGE hit.
For the cocktail lovers, you haven’t been forgotten as the team at Edmonds & Co are constantly growing their spirit list, already having five gins on the shelf; Hendricks, and Four Pillars amongst them! The team have also been working hard to nail their Espresso Martinis and we’re happy to announce, nail them they have!
For those of you with a sweet tooth, you’ll be glad to know the team has also catered for your needs with a range of scrumptious desserts. Whether it’s the cheesecake or the brownie, you won’t be disappointed.
Start your weekend right by grabbing your mates to get out and enjoy our beautiful city this Summer with an evening at Edmonds & Co in Newcastle’s East End.
