Brilliant coffee & homely food, Beaumont Street Islington
This grungy little café on what once was the wrong side of the tracks in Islington, is renowned for their smooth, strong coffee. You'll regularly drive down Beaumont Street and see the morning line up of caffeine starved locals hanging out for their morning hit.
At Suspension it is all about the coffee, and the coffee roasting. They roast their own beans in Redfern, Sydney and it's available for you to buy and take home with you.
It's a cult café, which has a great community feel to it. As owner Steph describes, "It feels like it belongs to everybody in the community," especially their really loyal customers who just can't get enough of both their coffee and simple yet scrumptious food menu.
Serving breakast and lunch, Suspension's menu is best described as tasty, healthy and homely with generous portion sizes – it's just wholesome honest, yummy food. My personal favourite is the saffron poached pear muesli.
The sunny rear courtyard is perfect for a weekend brunch, whilst you relax under the trees and read the newspapers or catch up with friends. Check it out this weekend!
