Spice Affairs

A taste of Northern India right in the heart of Lambton

Nestled on the main road of Lambton on Elder Street, lies a cosy gem of a restaurant that will take you on a culinary journey to the heart of Northern India.

Welcome to Spice Affairs Indian Restaurant.

Owned and operated by Indian-born, Jaswinder Singh, Spice Affairs Indian Restaurant opened its doors in Lambton in September 2023 following a short stint as a takeaway joint in West Wallsend under the name, Kapoor’s Kitchen.

“I have learned that small businesses like this, are hard. But if you work hard, and give it some time, it’s worth it.

“I had a small takeaway shop in West Wallsend originally just to work out whether running my own hospitality business would work. All of the customers over there were very sad when we moved here to Lambton. However, they’re still supporting us through takeaway and coming in for the dine-in experience,” Jas said.

The interiors are kept simple, which can often be one of the tell-tale signs of a small restaurant where the food is top-notch. The inside is cosy and intimate, with the courtyard out the back perfect for those balmy evenings.

The restaurant offers a great selection of dishes that celebrate the rich heritage and diverse flavours of Indian cuisine, with the menu catering to meat lovers and vegetarians.

Kicking the day off for breakfast at 10am (Tue-Sun), Spice Affairs offers four breakfast items or Tandoori Parathe, all served with plain yoghurt, butter, and mixed pickle.

The lunch and dinner menu is available from 10am-9pm (Tue-Sun) and 4pm-9pm (Mon) and includes Northern Indian-inspired sandwiches, burgers and rolls, authentic Indian snacks, a selection of Indian wraps, plus pages upon pages of entrees, mains, and sides.

“Our Indian wraps are very different because we make them on fresh naan bread.”

Whilst the menu does offer and focus on a lot of those Aussie Indian favourites, Jas and the team have gone that extra mile to ensure the menu is authentic and offers one of the largest varieties of Indian dishes in the area.

Whether you prefer to savour your meal in the cosy confines of the Lambton restaurant or enjoy it from the comfort of your own home, Spice Affairs caters for both. If you’re opting for dine-in, you’ll also get to browse the venue’s fully stocked bar, and even sample the restaurant’s home-made Indian Chai.

For those seeking an authentic taste of Northern Indian cuisine, look no further than Spice Affairs Indian Restaurant in Lambton. Book your table and experience a culinary journey you won’t soon forget.
