Have you visited Hamilton's dessert house yet?
If you’re ever making the drive down Beaumont Street, you’ll no doubt constantly be scanning the street, not just for pedestrians but the new shopfronts that seem to be opening left, right, and centre!
Brought to you by young couple Sunny and Phil, S Garden Dessert House offers exactly what the name suggests, DESSERTS!
Originally from China, the couple relocated to Newcastle five years ago and have been working away at the Beaumont St venue since 2019. With coronavirus putting their plans to the side, it wasn’t until late 2020 that the pair decided to finally finish off the renovations and open up to the public.
“We wanted to offer a dessert house and offer something different. When we lived in Hamilton, we would always come to Beaumont St for dinner but there weren’t many options for somewhere to go afterward. So, that’s really why we opened,” Phil said.
The ideal spot for young families or mums wanting to catchup with the little ones by their side, S Garden Dessert House is a welcoming environment for those needing a little extra TLC and space for the kids to play.
“We really want the customers to be able to come in and relax. We want people to know it’s a family-friendly venue too. Mums can sit down for a hot drink and a treat whilst the kids play on the chalkboard.”
When it comes to their offerings, you can expect the unexpected with a huge range of constantly updated cake and drink options. From the ever-so-colourful rainbow cake to the staple Oreo Milkshake to everything in between; everything is designed and created in-house at S Garden Dessert House.
“We want to give our customers something different. The drinks are all designed by us. We have so many different beverage options like the peach, watermelon, and green apple frappe.”
The one that’s really got people talking though is their watermelon cake – made with fresh watermelon! It's so popular it sells out rather quickly, so, if you're keen to give this one a go make sure to get in early to avoid missing out!
“The watermelon cake is the first one available in Newcastle and is really popular in Sydney. For people that haven’t tried it before and don’t know the flavour, we want them to come in and try it.”
So, whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a day time catch up with the little ones, or maybe you’re wandering around after dinner somewhere on Beaumont St looking for a tasty dessert, or maybe you’re just a lover of trying all things new – drop into S Garden Dessert House and give this one-of-a-kind Newcastle venue a try!
