Newcastle's Ultimate Night In was drawn and delivered this week with Glandore Estates Nick Flanagan and Grainfed Brewing's Lachlan MacBean doing the honours. 

The competition winner Holly, who lives in Melbourne, had nominated her mum and dad (Kevin and Julie) to win the prize for being the brilliant selfless parents that they are, and on the evening of Wednesday 27th May Julie and Kevin Johnston enjoyed their tasty competition loot.

'Newcastle's Ultimate Night In' was a coming together of seven Newcastle and Hunter Valley based businesses; Glandore Estate Wines, Wil & Sons, The Edwards, Grainfed Brewing, The Criterion, Bella Italia and The Koutetsu with the idea being to give one household an epic evening 'In'.

Julie and Kevin were a little overwhelmed by all the food, and fuss, and provided us with a nice little recap of how Newcastle's Ultimate Night In went.   

"We just want to say thank you to everyone involved in our wonderful ‘Ultimate Night In’ last night! We’re still full and even have left-overs!

"Don’t you just LOVE living in Newcastle? The world’s best food, cocktails, wine and beer all beautifully packed and delivered to our door by Nick and Lachlan. (Best delivery blokes on planet Earth).

"Everything was just perfect! We didn’t know where to start…. Well Cocktails, obviously! Then worked our way through all the incredibly delicious courses accompanied by some of the best wine we’ve ever tasted! And all followed by desserts that had our taste buds in a spin! Belissimo!

"When I saw the competition advertised I thought….. ‘Ooh, that would be a lovely night for someone.’

"It’s just not something we would ever think about enjoying for ourselves. Such a surreal feeling to learn that our sneaky daughter in Melbourne had entered and that WE HAD WON!!!

"During this extremely difficult and uncertain time for so many, we are overwhelmed by the generosity shown by the wonderful hardworking people in our local Hospitality Industry.

"Thank you all so much, it will be a night never to be forgotten."
