Thirty days of culinary worship is on its way with Newcastle Food Month

The inaugural Newcastle Food Month (NFM) is happening this April with the entire month all about celebrating two heroes; food and our backyard.

It’s been no secret that Newcastle's dining scene has been thriving in recent years with an ever-growing number of cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs popping up throughout the city each with a serious sense of Newcastle identity and provenance.

Having the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens right on our doorstep means our plates and glasses are filled with fresh delicious ingredients presented by talented chefs and restaurateurs in the City of Newcastle.

To celebrate this dramatic shift Event Organiser Louise Maher from Newcastle Events said,

“Over the next five years our aim is that the Newcastle culinary scene becomes one of our most recognised assets and that the Newcastle Food Month becomes one of Australia’s leading regional food festivals, drawing diners from around Australia to celebrate with us”.

Newcastle Food Month is the longest food festival the City has ever hosted and this is what you can expect;

30 days, 30 Feature Events, 1 Signature Event and 60 Plate Date meal offerings.

Feature Events and Festivals: 30 different events will be taking over the City’s streets and dining rooms this April. From Chef Table Experiences at The Essential Ingredient, to a Semillon & Seafood Lunch overlooking the Harbour. You can take a Trip to France with one of Newacastle's best chefs, or book yourself a seat at a Pop-Up Sparkling Wine and Oyster Bar. There is a flavour and dining experience for all to enjoy.

Plate Date: A phenomenal 60 cafes, restaurants and pubs are all getting creative and offering a specially designed plate, with a beverage, for just $25pp throughout the month of April.
