Something new arrived in Honeysuckle last week, well almost new. You may be familiar with the building, but step inside and what you'll discover is a whole new place to play and be SOCIAL. The harbourside venue has been completely switched up and reflects everything that we love most about Newcastle, that laid back coastal lifestyle with a touch of sophistication.

Previously known as the Squire’s Maiden, in January the doors closed after almost seven years in business, just three weeks later, the venue was completely renovated and revamped to what is now known as Honeysuckle SOCIAL.

Whilst the structure of the building hasn't changed the design aspects and vibe of the space has been completely altered with the refurb injecting a whole lot of light and personality into the venue.

What's most to love about Honeysuckle SOCIAL is there is a space for everyone at anytime of the day. From those very session-able bar tables to the alfresco dining area that's ideal for families to relax in. Move inside if you want to get a little more comfy on those lounge chairs, cocktail in hand, or take the booth option, the perfect space for that date night or girl gang get-together.

The beverage menu is as equally impressive and extensive. For the craft lovers, the bars loaded with icy cold taps of some of Australia's best craft beer brewers and for the cocktail lovers you're going to feel right at home. All the classics are there along with some quirky new flavours that you're going to love, the Social Climber has just become our new best friend.

On the launch night venue owner, Damian O’Reilly talked us through his excitement for the reinvented space saying,

“It’s all about the atmosphere. From the ambiance, presentation, service and of course the food. We want to create an experience for our guests."

Adding to the atmosphere will be live music and djs on weekends, and be sure to keep your eye out for tickets to the Bottomless Lunch coming up on International Women’s Day (8th March) which includes bottomless spritzes & two share plates for $38. 

With summer closing in, it's the perfect time to head to the harbour for a few bevies and a long lunch that flows well into the afternoon. Honeysuckle Social is a playground for lovers of fine food, cocktails, drinks, entertainment and fun times.
