Haze lands in Stockton, ushering in a new chapter for a local favourite
Stockton mornings have a rhythm all their own - early swims, sandy paws, quiet streets slowly filling with familiar faces.
This summer, that rhythm gets a fresh companion with the arrival of Haze, a new coastal cafe from Ben Richardson, the mind behind Crumb and Autumn Rooms.

Now open at 42 Mitchell Street, Haze marks a new chapter for local favourite Autumn Rooms Stockton - a refreshed name, look, and menu designed to reflect the suburb it calls home.
“Haze is about creating a place that feels grounded and sun-soaked,” says Ben. “Stockton has its own energy - it deserved a cafe designed specifically for this community.”

While the name has changed, the heart of the space remains firmly intact. Locals can expect the same friendly faces behind the bar, the same commitment to quality, and the same community-first approach that’s made the cafe a daily ritual for walkers, dog owners, families, and early risers.
"Ben hopes locals feel like they’re stepping into a friend’s home - busy, yet genuinely cared for, where even a brief interaction leaves a warm impression."
The menu leans brighter and more seasonal, with a new focus on açaí bowls, fresh takeaway options, toasties, burritos, waffle dippers, and simple, feel-good food designed for easy mornings.
Signature specialty coffee and matcha - sourced through Single O - continue to anchor the offering, with new items rolling out as the space comes fully to life.

Community remains central to the next chapter. Haze has already stepped into its role as a local hub, announced as the naming partner of the Stockton Sunrise Run, kicking off the Island Triathlon Festival in January 2026.
“For us, it’s not about hosting an event for the sake of it - it’s about supporting something that already belongs to this community. Being there at the finish line with coffee, food and familiar faces gives people a place to reconnect, refuel and sit in that post-race buzz together.”

Plans are also underway for ongoing collaborations and events, including run club pop-ups and local partnerships that speak to Stockton’s outdoor-first lifestyle.
Join Haze for a Pilates & Pastries pop-up by the water on February 28th, in collaboration with Crumb and Grace Movement Pilates - move, stretch, and refuel with fresh, feel-good treats.
Open daily from 6am, Haze is built for the kind of mornings Stockton does best - coffee after a swim, dogs at your feet, sun rising slowly over the water.

Same team. Same coffee. A new name shaped by early light, sea air, and the community who fills this cafe each day.
