The Junction has always been a favourite for locals and visitors alike for a weekend breakfast catchup or an overdue brunch with your favourite people. With plenty of venues to choose from, there’s one more that’s recently launched their breakfast offerings, and trust us, you’ll want to listen in!

The Junction Hotel, based right in the heart of The Junction on the corner of Corlette and Kenrick St, has officially launched their weekend breakfast offerings and the menu is all any brunch-loving foodie can expect and more!

Having launched their breakfast offering right at the peak of the Omicron variant taking its toll across Newcastle in December last year, Junction Hotel’s breakfast offering has gone somewhat unnoticed. So, if you’re yet to experience the new foodie offering, listen in to what they’ve got planned!

“Our breakfast menu offers our patrons rich flavours and fresh produce which is all locally sourced from the Hunter. We work with Alderley Creek for free-range eggs from Stroud and Binnorie Feta from the Hunter Valley.

“Our vibe is a chilled, relaxed atmosphere choosing a seat in our open light-filled restaurant or outside on our picnic tables watching the world go by.”

For those of you who can’t imagine dining out for breakfast on the weekend without your four-legged friend, you’ll be glad to know the outdoor dining is, of course, dog-friendly!

Head Chef, Warren Fouracre, has created the ultimate weekend brunch menu with delights for every taste. If you’re picky when it comes to choosing your dish, we chatted to Warren to find out the top five dishes on the newly launched menu…

Of course, the Aussie brunch classic, Smashed Avocado has made the list, complete with local feta, pomegranate, beetroot dust, macadamia & black sesame dukkah. Vegan? They’ve got a vegan substitute complete with housemade macadamia feta.

Up next is the ever-so-delicious Spanish Eggs Benedict sure to pack a flavour punch. Comes complete with poached free-range eggs, Rodriguez Bros chorizo, charred corn & tomato salsa, smashed avocado, and pimento hollandaise served on toasted sourdough.

For those that love something a little more on the lighter side, you’ve got to try the Maple & Coconut Granola; served with coconut panna cotta, berry compote, fig, coconut chips, and passionfruit coconut yoghurt.

The veggie-loaded Breakfast Nourish Bowl is perfect for those who take breakfast seriously. Served with charred broccoli, avocado, kale, grilled halloumi, quinoa, smoked labneh, soft poached eggs, and almonds.

Rounding out the top five breakfast dishes, is none other than the fruit-loaded Pavlova Hotcake; complete with caramelised banana, strawberries, passionfruit, and salted caramel vanilla bean ice cream topped with crushed meringue.

“Our breakfast cocktails are for those wanting something a bit different to their usual morning coffee. We do a great Bloody Mary or anything from a Cucumber & Elderflower Spritz to a Salted Caramel Espresso Martini.”
