Authentic southern Italian at The Rooftop, Westfield Kotara
Criniti’s authentic, award-winning Italian cuisine is continuing to bring their foodie goodness to The Rooftop at Westfield Kotara. Known for their flavoursome Southern Italian cuisine, family-friendly dining, and extensive menu; now is the time to gather your friends, your family, and all the loved ones for a night out at Criniti’s Kotara.
Originally established in 2003 in Sydney, the brand is now operating with six venues across the state under the South Australian Italian food group, Brunelli. With a passion for Italian food and the restaurant experience; a visit to Criniti’s Kotara is no doubt just as good as it has ever been.
The menu is so extensive that we recommend ordering a bruschetta to start with, whilst you pore your way through the pages to try and decide what to have for dinner. There’s even seven types of bruschetta to pick from, maybe I’ll keep it simple and start with a Peroni instead!
The menu has everything you could expect from an Italian restaurant menu; plenty of pizzas, pastas, steaks, seafood, salads, and calzone.
“Our menu uses the best ingredients to create Southern Italian masterpieces with a modern Australian twist. Buon appetito!”
Kick-off with a round of tempura Zucchini Flowers filled with goat cheese and mascarpone cream, or a plate of Prosciutto & Burrata mozzarella, basil, cherry tomatoes, and oregano served with Italian bread or a plate of Mamma Rosa’s Meatballs; homemade meatballs in Napoli sauce topped with mozzarella and parmesan.
For mains, you’ve got plenty to choose from with over 30 pasta dishes, 40 pizza toppings, ribs, burgers and so much more on the menu. The wood-fired pizzas are the restaurant's highlight which gives you the option to order by the length; 0.5, one, two, or even three metres!
If you have room after mains, best be checking out their dessert menu which includes dessert pizzas (of course), gelato, the bomboloni stack, and the Nutella bomba; a fried pizza pocket filled with Nutella and cinnamon served with vanilla gelato and strawberries; it’s legendary!
Need a beveragino to wash all that delicious food down? Well, it’s no surprise to know that the drinks menu is just as extensive as the food one. With cocktails galore, a focus on Italian wine varieties as well as plenty of goodies found across Australia and New Zealand, and beers on tap available in three sizes; 300ml, 500ml, and the huge 1L. The team have also worked on a range of delicious summer Aperitivo cocktails using family-owned, Italian artisan liquer by Cello! Think Aperol Spritz, Melone Aperol Spritz, and Negroni Sbagliato (the mistaken Negroni) made with campari, cinzano rosso, and prosecco.
Tying in with the passionate food and drink menus, the interior itself showcases the vibrant Italian culture. With soccer balls and Ferraro memorabilia hanging from the ceiling, and of course Sopranos cast photos as well as bright neon Italian donning the walls.
As part of the Westfield Kotara Rooftop Dining precinct, Criniti’s is Bellissimo! It's perfect for a family outing, with a menu to suit all tastes, generous servings, and authentic Italian flavours.
Book yourself a seat at Criniti’s Kotara and have an Italian themed night out in Newcastle.
