Newcastle is lucky to land itself a new bespoke dining experience, and it’s led by the passionate and innovative self-proclaimed foodie, Gabriella Kelly.

A Tavola! emerges onto our local scene as a bespoke dinner party business weaving together Italian cuisine, captivating table settings, and an unparalleled all-encompassing fuss-free feast experience.

“I feel that there is nothing quite like this on offer here in Newcastle. I’ve noticed that since covid has happened, people are going out less and less. A Tavola! is giving people the option to do it at home, with no time limit, but not having to worry about a thing.”

Originally from Newcastle, Gabriella has recently returned to town after a long stint in the United Kingdom – where her first foray into the bespoke dining scene kicked off.

Guided by her Italian heritage, passion for cooking, and love for entertaining, Gabriella partnered up with her cousin, to launch their first venture Bomba Girls – bespoke pop-up dinner parties.

Following her return to Australia, Gabriella hoped to bring something similar to Newcastle and after 18 months, A Tavola! was launched in April.

“In Italian, A Tavola means ‘at the table’ and it’s a saying they would say if dinner was ready; it’s like come sit down, dinner is ready!”

At the core of A Tavola! lies Gabriella’s commitment to reimagine dining experiences. Having recognised the shifting landscape where home gatherings and dinner parties are thriving, Gabriella has crafted an experience that considers it all – from set up, cooking, service, and most importantly, clean up – guests don’t lift a finger.

Every detail is carefully considered, from the tablescapes and menu planning, to the all-important vibes, Gabriella ensures a seamless and unforgettable evening.

What sets A Tavola! apart is its versatility. There are five distinct themes to choose from – the vibrant citrus and deep blues of i limoni; the vegetables are the main act with le verdure; the bright, bold, and colourful vibes of i colori; late night trattoria colours with i pomodori; and the feminine energy of la rosa.

“My personal favourite is the i pomodori with the red and the blues – I just love it.”

Having collected countless tableware settings, Gabriella is also open to working with guests on a completely custom setting – transforming your space into an enchanting dining area.

The menus, whilst having a strong Italian influence, are there as templates and guides for guests and are completely customisable. Additionally, guests can add on a welcome cocktail and limoncello for a little extra delight.

“I love that real trattoria type of intimate private dining experience. Ultimately, to have my own kitchen would be the dream.”

Gabriella envisions a future with an A Tavola! kitchen – a space to host pop-ups and prep for intimate dinner parties.
