Perfect for Brekkie, Brunch, Boozy Lunches + private Events
Since opening in late 2015 owner Zach and the team at Bolton Street Pantry have been nailing scrumptious breakfasts and mouth-watering lunches, paired with some of the best coffee in Newie.See our handpicked guides to Newcastle
But now they have a liquor licence which means, boozy long lunches, brunch cocktails, signature monthly dinner events and private events.
So if you're planning an event and are looking for a unique venue which you can use exclusively then look no further. It's fully licensed and be cocktail
or seated (up 48 people), perfect for a non-traditional low-key wedding, corporate gig or special occasion.
Besides the liquor, they pour The Grounds of Alexandria coffee with amazing consistency. The blend is balanced, with delicate flavours and aromas coming through. It’s perfect for a pre-work takeaway or a Sunday arvo writer’s block cure.
Serving breakfast, lunch and monthly dinners Bolton Street Pantry pride themselves on fresh, local and in-season menus, there’s nothing frozen or deep-fried here! It’s simple, healthy and most importantly tasty. Like the simple yet ridiculously flavoursome Brioche French Toast, House Made Granola or Haloumi Breakfast you can’t take a wrong turn here. There are also plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available.
For lunch my personal faves are the Zucchini and Corn Fritters, the dukkah crusted lamb rump with a tomato salad and Tzatziki side. And if you don’t have time to eat-in everything on the menu can be ordered as takeaway, for you to devour back at the office. Or alternatively why not try their new express menu of sandwiches and salads read to grab and go.
Bolton Street Pantry is super welcoming, owner Zach is always on hand to welcome you and help you out with what to order, he also pours a great coffee.
Growing up in a family who worked in the fruit and veg business, Zach had fresh food running through his veins from an early age. His love of the greens would see him move in to hospitality, working for Sydney’s super slick Merivale group. After many years working hard in the white collar world Zach returned to the family business.
When the business sold Zach felt it was time to do his own foodie thing and after relocating to Newcastle it wasn’t long before he established his own fresh food world, calling it the Bolton Street Pantry.
Not originally from Newcastle, Zach saw potential in the city with so much development going on and a real food culture building. And most importantly Zach said,
“When I set up here in the morning people stop to say hello, which is absolutely foreign in Sydney, it just doesn’t happen. Newcastle’s a friendly place where people are willing to give you a go. Going from those big venues working long hours it was a real lifestyle thing as well.
“My idea for the shop was to keep it quite simple, nice white tiles and clean, just let these products speak for themselves and let what’s on the plate be the reason why people come and keep coming back."
Together with the super tasty coffee, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menus, Zach also stocks a range of all Australian owned and made grocery items including
herbs, spices, marinades, oils, muesli, etc.
With a view of the passers-by, Bolton Street Pantry is easy to settle into and let the world go by.
