New Lambton is rocking thanks to the Black Circle Café
New Lambton is rocking thanks to the Black Circle Café, and its white rasta owner Wal (just kidding). This café is a homage to old school vinyl, with a wall of album covers that smacks you in the eyes when you walk in, a record player in the corner spinning tunes and of course the name Black Circle Cafe.
Occupying the old Peaberrys shop on Alma Rd at New Lambton, Black Circle has injected rhythm and pizazz into the shop with a crew of young baristas, a super easy going vibe and a bit of a makeover. He is still pouring the amazing Peaberrys coffee, and it’s also still the place to pick up your Peaberrys beans to take home. If you haven’t yet tasted a Peaberrys coffee then you really need to drop in and give the ‘Black Betty’ or ‘Mac Daddy’ a go and discover what the rest of us have known about for years.
After taking the keys to the premises on April Fools Day, Wal thought that he would be cursed, but months on, this little café is pumping with a young crew, a very young crew...
Kids that is, with a dedicated gated kids playroom full of toys, games and a TV for the older kids and a chalk wall.
Black Circle café has a classic straight forward menu for breakfast and lunch – bacon & eggs for breaky, sweet French toast or savoury French toast with bacon and maple (savoury but kinda sweet). Lunch includes a selection of salads, wraps, toasties, soup and assorted frittatas and if that that all sounds too healthy chomp into one of their awesome muffins: today’s selection is maple, cashew, banana and dark chocolate.
