Eight hours later, after a few stops to get supplies and ski hire we arrive at The Eastern Cedar Cabin. Located in Thredbo’s central village, our home for the weekend.

This European loft-style cabin oozes style and sophistication. It was recently shortlisted in the Australian Interior Design Awards (AIDAs) for Residential Design and has been featured in Country Style, InsideOut and Belle magazines. It is simply beautiful!

The open plan design is perfect for two, but can sleep up to four. It includes a full kitchen, a Japanese inspired onsen tub, bathroom with underfloor heating, and a deck with panoramic views. It is a such a welcoming, comfortable and stylish space, we feel immediately at home as we get set up for the next few days on the slopes.

The next morning we start the day with a coffee on the deck and take in the uninterrupted views of the Thredbo River, the slopes and Mount Kosciusko. With the morning sun hitting the ski slopes and the sound of the river trickling, we kick into holiday mode and get amped for the day ahead.

The location of this cabin is amazing! It’s within the Thredbo Village, on the western side making it walking distance to everything. You won’t need your car at all, once you get here.

The slopes are only a short walk from the cabin, so we beat the crowds up the mountain every morning and get pristine groomed runs. Best yet, at the end of the day there is no long commute back to Jindabyne, instead we’re back having a warm bath and relaxing before we know it. What luxury!

At night we wander through Thredbo Village, where there are plenty of bars to pick from, our faves are House of Ullr, Thredbo Burger Bar and T-Bar Restaurant for wood-fired pizzas.

As we draw the curtains on a huge day on the ski fields, we’re excited for another massive day tomorrow.
