A new tasting room has launched in Pokolbin
Ideally positioned on McDonald’s Rd, Pokolbin, Jac & Jones is the Hunter Valley’s newest Tasting Room, launching on October 23rd, 2021, the fresh new space is one to add to your list.
Situated within the H Boutique Hotel property, whilst their tasting room may be new, the Jac and Jones brand is anything but with owner Jacqui explaining,
"In 2004 I started to learn how to make wines, I met Ian in 2011 but it wasn't until 2017 that I got my winemaking equipment out again and that's when the Jac & Jones Brand was born."
The Jac & Jones wines have been available for purchase both online or and out of ‘Lovely’, the very sophisticated and sassy mobile bar, however, when the opportunity came about to set up their own space, smack in the middle of Pokolbin, it was an opportunity too good to pass up.
“We’ve always had the wine business and establishing a tasting room had been on the cards for a while, and when I finished up my role in senior management in June this year, the business was going mental. Then 2 weeks later we were lockdown, so it almost feels like we’re starting from scratch again.”
“Then Sam from H Boutique, who we’ve known for quite some time, and I really love what he is doing here with the off-the-grid accommodation, it really fits with our ethos of winemaking so it almost felt as though it was meant to be.”
The Tasting Room has been beautifully styled by Jacqui, working every inch of the space to the best of its potential. The ceilings exposed wooden beams and plush interiors soften the industrial style tasting area which has a settle-in and get comfy kind of feel about it.
Whether it’s a tasting for two, a larger group, or if you’re looking for a space pre-festival Jac & Jones makes for the ideal option with the Tasting Room being within walking distance of Pokolbin’s main hub and Bimbadgen Estate.
Its central location doesn’t detract from the tranquility and gorgeous vineyard views that you expect from the Hunter Valley, combined with Jacqui’s warm-hearted welcome, it’s a tasting spot you need to your list.
