There’s no denying it, it’s a fair drive, about an hour and half from Newcastle via the Golden Highway but the beautiful, long winding, quiet country roads make for a pleasant change of scenery, and any lost travel time is quickly forgotten once you enter the Estate.
Owned and operated by Karen and Gary Williams the couple set out to take full advantage of the property's space creating an experience that welcomes everyone.
The large, almost football field sized grassy area makes for the perfect picnic space where the kids can run freely. The deck and garden courtyard area are ideal for cheese boards and wine tasting or long lunching. For those preferring a dining experience the refined yet casual experience in Vines Restaurant provides not only a beautiful setting but a modern seasonal menu that is simply divine.
The property holds its own in the wine world with the adjoining cellar door covering a multitude of varieties including Hunter Valley favourites the Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon and Chardonnay. If you’re more of a Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho or Sparkling kind of person you won’t be disappointed.
The use of the original timbers from the Bowmans’ Crossing Bridge throughout the building adds that rustic country touch, combined with the carefully selected interior furnishings the result is a most exquisite ambiance both inside and out.
On a beautiful sunny day, as we had it, there are valley views as far as the eye can see and a peace and calmness that that has you getting very comfy, very quickly.
