Gourmet Kitchen & Coffee at Mt Pleasant
Situated at the historic Mt Pleasant vineyard, Red Apron offers casual café style meals. It’s a great pitstop between cellar door tastings, with hearty, quick and tasty meals to fill your grumbly tummy. Eat in and takeaway options are available.
Open for breakfast and lunch through to late afternoon snacks, The Red Apron is best enjoyed on a sunny afternoon in their wonderful Tuscan style courtyard. Here you can sit back with a bottle of wine, a grazing platter and a couple of pizzas.
Owner Joanne likes to keep her menu simple and seasonal, “but really nice and tasty. It doesn’t need to be over complicated”. We agree!
She’s recently introduced an afternoon snack menu to satisfy those munchies after a long day of wine tasting. Think pork, chorizo and apple sausage rolls; snapper croquettes and mushroom and goat’s cheese quesadillas.
On our visit we indulged in Joanne’s apple pie with a cheddar cheese crust, it was the perfect balance between sweet and salty, the crumbly savoury crust complemented the chunky apple filling wonderfully.
The Red Apron pours a great coffee too, using Darks Coffee Roasters’ beans. It’s strong and bold, great for shaking away that wine haze.
The Red Apron also offers cooking classes, with details on their website.
