Sitting atop a picturesque valley the view at Twine Restaurant is simply breathtaking! On this Summer’s day, the rolling hills of grape vines seem endless, we can’t quite see the Barrington Tops but owner Daniel informs us that on a clear day you can.
Daniel and his wife, Meagan took over Twine Restaurant in August 2017 after falling in love with it. And we can clearly understand why – that view! With more than 20 years’ experience in hospitality in the Hunter Valley, when Twine came onto the market, they knew it was the opportune time to dive into their own venture.
Besides the spectacular view, Twine has a mouth-watering Modern Australian menu, which Daniel describes as, “Simplistic. We let the produce speak for itself and try not be too confusing with our flavours". The menu is heavily influenced by local seasonal produce, with touches of Asian fusion, such as the Duck and Mango Salad or the House Cured Ocean Trout with fennel, micro herbs, avocado mousse and Hunter Valley labna (both pictured below).
Twine Restaurant is very popular as a wedding venue because of the flexibility of the space, with the restaurant, barrel room, View Bar, wedding gazebo and photogenic vineyard all at your disposal. Catering for up to 200 guests, you can book out the venue for your exclusive use on your special day.
The View Bar is perfect for watching the sunset over the vines, with the light filtering through the gum trees and splashing onto the vines. With a boutique Hunter Valley wine list, cocktails and craft beers, I could sit here for hours!
