The Hunter Valley will again this May and June be going into event overdrive with the annual Wine & Food Festival launching for another year. There is a whole list of events and activities that you can get involved in, here are just some of the highlights. 

Olive Long Table Luncheon
Saturday 1st June | 12pm
Held amongst the olive groves at Whispering Brook, the annual Olive Long Table Luncheon begins with a walking tour of the olive groves and vineyard, followed by a four-course olive inspired lunch and complemented with matching Whispering Brook wines. Crafted by local restaurateur, Frank Fawkner of EXP, throughout the menu Frank will be highlighting the quality and flexibility of extra virgin olive oil and olives. Guests will also enjoy live music and a special guest speaker.

Burning of the Barrel
Saturday 29 June | 3pm - 10pm
A night not to be missed and featured as one of the Top 50 Worldwide Wine Experiences you must do by Gourmet Traveller Wine, it's a must do event. Glandore Estate is where it's at and it's an evening of fantastic food, local wines, music, cheese, fireworks and one badass bonfire. This one sells out so be sure to secure your tickets and get your spot fireside.

Harvest Lunch Series - Meet the Farmer
Sunday 30 June | 11:30am
Margan together with a collection of the Hunter Valley's best local producers have teamed up to create a delicious 5-course lunch that showcases not only the best produce from the local region, but the stories from the people behind. Learn about their philosophy of prioritising locally grown produce with a focus on transparency and seasonality and their commitment to looking after the land.

Scarborough Sensory School
Every Saturday & Sunday in May & June | 10am & 2pm
Hosted by the Scarborough sensory chaperone, these fun and educational wine classes will help you learn about wine characters, aromas and have you tasting your way through three whites and three reds, accompanied by some local cheese. 
Each event runs for one hour and includes a bottle of either 2016 Yellow Label Chardonnay or Vintage Blend

Meet the Makers 2018 Red Release Masterclass
Friday 17 & Sunday 19 May | 11am & 3pm
Hosted by the Tyrrell's family and their winemakers, this exclusive wine-tasting masterclass showcases 11 of the top 2018 exclusive new release Winemakers Selection, Sacred Sites and Single Vineyard red wines, not usually available to the general public. The ticket price includes a delicious cheese plate for each person, and the ticket price is completely refundable if you decide to join the Private Bin membership program on the day. A complimentary winery tour is also available prior to the tasting, to learn about the historical property. Bookings for this additional tour are essential.
