Family friendly, country pub
This recently renovated, 1890s built, pub is only a short distance from Newcastle and the Hunter ValleySee our handpicked guides to the HunterValley
Despite all the different foodie options Newcastle seems to be accumulating, sometimes you really can’t go past a classic chicken schnitzel and gravy at a classic old-school pub.
And the newly renovated Heddon Greta Hotel is just that, a family friendly laid back, country pub. While many of us think of the drive-in cinema when we think of Heddon Greta, the area has begun to thrive in recent years with new houses being developed in the area.
And it’s closer than you think! Only 20 minutes from the beginning of the Newcastle link road and a short 15-minute drive to the many vineyards of the Hunter Valley. With accommodation available upstairs it puts you in a prime location.
With all its modern finishing’s, a function room for up to 50 people, a pool table in the bar, weekly specials, and a verandah off the restaurant, the Heddon Greta Hotel has come a long way since its owners took over in 2007.
Currently managing the pub is Nina and Daniel; Nina explains to us that Monday’s kids eat free, plus there is a kids area and a courtesy bus every day of the week!
