Looking for some day trip inspo? Make it Maitland this Summer returns this summer offering a full program of events and activities. There's something for the whole family and here are some of the highlights.

New Year’s Eve

Make your way to Maitland Riverside Car Park for a spectacular New Years Eve to see out the year with a bang!

The family friendly event features free amusement rides, face painting, live music, activities and a disco playing all the top hits from 2023. Foodies will be well catered for with plenty of food, beverages and dessert stalls on hand.

Celebrations will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky at 9.00pm, in what will be an evening not to be missed! For more information click here.

Street Eats 

All summer long a host of Street Eats will be popping up across Maitland, so grab a group of friends and enjoy some local live tunes and a bite to eat from one of your favourite food trucks.

The Levee

From January it's time to Turn Down the Heat and stay cool with pop up free ice blocks and a misting tunnel in The Shared Zone. There will be plenty of good vibes, live music, tasty food and a pop up bar or two at the LIVE at The Levee Street Party event.

Maitland River Regatta 

There's no better way to spend a summer's day than floating down the Hunter River.

Boats will launch from RH Taylor Reserve for an afternoon of family fun! To participate in the Maitland River Regatta be sure to pre purchase your ticket to hire a boat and paddle down the river. To book your boat click here.

If floating down river is not your thing, there will be loads of activities and entertainment on offer at RH Taylor Reserve for the whole family to enjoy, as well as a delicious selection of food and drinks. 

Dive in Cinema

Make a splash this summer at Dive In Cinema. Head to Maitland Aquatic Centre to cool down while enjoying great movies.

The Dive in Cinema will be complete with entertainment, food, laser tag and lawn games, as well as free swim time.

Maitland Gaol

Unlock the fun at Maitland Gaol this summer with additional Ghost Hunting 101 tours.

Those brave enough to venture through the gates after hours can expect exclusive access to the site as the sun goes down, plus the option to bring a picnic and enjoy a snack on the exercise field.

Maitland Library 

Maitland libraries are going wild this January, with animal fun for everyone. Amazing activities from author talks, art activities and real live creatures will be popping up, so come along, have a lot of fun, and discover something wild about the weird and wonderful creatures that surround us.
