There's going to be an invasion of giant dinosaurs, dragons and other huge creepy crawlies in the Hunter Valley! That’s right – Mega Creatures are back at the Hunter Valley Gardens for 2024.

From Saturday April 6 until Sunday May 5, Hunter Valley Gardens will transform into a prehistoric paradise with Mega Creatures and Mega Creatures Night Safari.

Located just a short drive from Newcastle and Sydney, Hunter Valley Gardens promises an experience that will captivate visitors of all ages.

The dino-loving little ones will be thrilled by the life-sized animatronic replicas of dinosaurs like T-Rex, Diplodocus, and Stegosaurus. But the excitement doesn't stop there – new prehistoric visitors like Wuerhosaurus (good luck pronouncing this one!) and Dilophosaurus join the lineup, transporting guests back in time to Dino Land.

Dragons Den is where the kids' imagination can really soar, with some dragons even capable of breathing fire. Meanwhile, the Amphitheatre hosts a stunning butterfly exhibition featuring creations painted by local school children. Don't forget to cast your vote for your favourite fluttering friend!

As the sun sets, Mega Creatures Night Safari begins, with prehistoric beasts coming to life through captivating lighting displays. But beware – the predators are on the prowl around the frog ponds and winding paths. Follow up your Night Safari with a visit to Reptile Road, where you can admire the gardens' collection of snakes and lizards.

Still got some energy left? Little thrill-seekers can enjoy rides like The Carousel, Swing Chair, and the 25-metre tall Giant Ferris Wheel, which offers a unique perspective of the dinosaurs below.

Aspiring archaeologists will love the Night at the Museum display with hands-on fossil discovery experiences. And don't miss the Easter long weekend festivities, including a visit from the Easter Bunny and the Giant Easter Egg Hunt.
