There’s much to love about dining at The Cellar Restaurant, the beautiful setting is really like no other in the Hunter Valley. With an abundance of lush green foliage throughout you get an almost tropical dining experience, combined with the spectacular fireplace that takes centre stage, the two elements blending perfectly for the warm and cooler months.
The Cellar Restaurant is no new-comer to the Hunter Valley, with Andy and Janet Wright doing what they do best for more than a decade. Their menu can best be described as hearty with meals that won’t be leaving you hungry. The menu has a modern Australian theme with an emphasis on local produce.
There’s something on the menu for everyone with both land and sea covered. Starting with entrees you’ll discover everything from quail to oxtail, from Indian spiced kangaroo, to the most delicious Buffalo mozzarella and even some Queensland prawns. Mains are as equally as interesting with the Organic Tassie hanger steak, Coffs Harbour prawns, Cape Grim fillet wrapped in bacon and an 8 hour slow braised White Pyrenees lamb shoulder just a hint of the seasonal selections.
For those who like to share the Ocean or Smallgoods Platter for two are a popular choice, accompanied by an extensive list of sides and sauces it makes for no easy choice.
We do recommend leaving some room for dessert with Andy’s sweet treats being legendary. It really doesn’t matter what you choose whether it be the brulee, sorbet or parfait option you won’t be disappointed.
A little bit of foodie ecstasy is what you’ll experience and you’ll be wishing to return to again and again.
