Pickld and Pitted is very much a family affair with owner Marion sharing her recipe secrets to all that drop-in.
The shelves are filled with handmade relishes, chutneys, pickles, olive oils, pestos, pastas and much much more.
The space is also shared by Marion’s daughter Michelle, who’s collection of skincare and Olive Oil soaps, BARE Nature’sKin, fills the air with a unique and fresh scent.
The story of Pickled and Pitted begins with Marion, and of course her son who planted the 3,000 or so olive trees at their Hunter Valley property, with the plan being to create her very own range of olive oils. Whilst Marion waited for the trees to bear fruit her time was spent wisely crafting a range of gourmet and speciality foods, that would complement the olive oil range once the fruit was ready to be pressed.
The flavours in the oils are to die for, with Marion's made-by-hand touch shining through, yes that’s right the labelling, jarring and collecting of the fruit all done by hand. Marion’s daughter has followed suit with Michelle, hand making each one of her skincare products.
