A new menu and restaurant concept launches at Boydell's

Morpeth’s charming restaurant and cellar door, Boydell’s, is launching an exciting new menu and refreshed dining concept.

Since launching Boydell’s in 2020, Daniel and Jane Maroulis have delivered a unique dining experience with the restaurant quickly becoming one of Morpeth’s most loved and iconic venues. Four years on the couple have decided to shake things up a little, taking a refreshed approach.

For regulars to the gorgeous little slab hut, what you’ll discover is a new menu and dining concept, one that celebrates relaxed regional dining, and emphasises seasonality, local producers, along with Boydell’s award-winning wines.

The all-day menu has been designed to suit all occasions. Whether your preference is to share your selections, or keep the dining more individual, the diverse range of seasonal snacks, small share plates, and larger dishes are equally ideal for those date nights and special occasions as they are for casual catch ups with family and friends. Owner and vigneron, Daniel Maroulis explains,

“We believe it’s the perfect time to enhance our offerings. The new menu promotes a more relaxed and accessible dining experience while staying true to our commitment to community, quality, and sustainability.

The new offering also includes a greater variety of share plates, the introduction of all-day dining and weekly dish specials from the kitchen, all while continuing to provide guests with a laid-back atmosphere, and Boydell's warm hospitality.

Menu highlights include beef tartare with vegetable crisps and horseradish,  crisp octopus with salt cod brandade and sherry glazed chorizo, Rainbow trout with kipfler potato, green beans and blood orange butter almonds, and signature steak frites.

If you like to end your dining experience on a sweet note, the goats cheese parfait with pistachio, green tea and  strawberry, and tipsy blood orange with Campari bavarois and raspberry crush are perfect options. As is the Bay of Fires cheddar with bacon jam, pickled walnuts and crisp bread.
