Ironbark Hill Brewhouse

Who said Cellar Doors and Brewhouses don't mix?

Do you love wine? Do you love beer? Do you love beer and wine?

Most of us do and if you’re visiting the Hunter Valley it can be difficult to find somewhere to do both at the same time. But now, thanks to Peter Drayton Wines, it's no longer a problem.

Owners Peter and Leesa Drayton, along with their team of wine and beer makers, have created the ultimate destination for food, beer and wine. Located within the 40 hectare Hermitage Rd property there is literally a building for every possible occasion you could need.

From the accommodation down the back, to the function centre up front, Brewhouse and Cellar Door in the middle, there’s even a Wedding Chapel should the need arise.

Coming from a long history of wine makers Peter knows better than most what it takes to make a fine tasting bottle of wine. The cellar door is perfectly set up to either just have a sip or linger around for much much longer.

Their 'Wine Flights' are the ultimate in wine tasting experiences. With eight different wines to work your way through, take a seat out on the deck area with your rather large paddle and enjoy everything from a Sparkling or Semillon to a Merlot or Tyrian.

Located in the same building, take about ten steps to your right, you’ll find the Ironbark Hill Brewhouse taps and the massive brewing system out the back. Peter never does anything by halves and when you visit the Brewhouse you’ll understand what I mean.

The brewing system, which was imported from Germany, brews the range of eight beers that include everything from a Pilsner to an India Pale Ale and Schwarzbier.

Just to make sure you don’t leave in a hurry a massive beer garden spills out from the bar area and makes for the perfect spot to eat your pizza, burger and sink your beers and wine.
