A Little Bit of Italy kicks off in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of Broke on Friday 29 April and you're invited to discover the region's abundance of wine and local producer all with a touch of Italian flavour.

The two day event brings together a diverse offering of farm to table food experiences, Italian inspired masterclasses, workshops and wine tasting galore.

Benvenuta - Dining Under The Stars at Margan

Margan's stunning courtyard will transform into a beautiful piazza, with classical Italian guitarists serenading in the background. Chef Joey Ingram will serve a delicious 5 course degustazione menu inspired by regional Italian cuisine working with produce grown in the Margan Kitchen Garden & Orchard. Paired with a stellar Italian wine selection, straight from Andrew Margan’s private cellar, as well as sustainably farmed Margan wines by the glass and bottle. Joey may even serve his house made and treasured single barrel Limoncello made from last year’s lemon harvest!

Nightingale Three-course Italian Candlelit Dinner

Get cosy and be prepared for a feast at Nightingale’s three-course Italian dinner. Your menu a classic line up of Italian favourites starting with Tomato Bruschetta or Garlic Prawn, accompanied with a glass of Nightingale premium or reserve wine at your choice. For the main expect only premium Angus Scotch Fillet, cooked in the Italian way. There is of course the Prawn Linguine, fresh and full of flavour. Dessert has been especially made for the Italian Festival, the beautifully smooth Panna Cotta served with delightful pistachio ice cream. Your dessert has also been paired with a complimentary serve of Nightingale famous Tawny Port, the perfect finish to the day!

Wine & Pasta School at Greenway Wines

Working with International Chef Nathan Cooper, Greenway Wines invites you along for Pasta Making classes where you will learn how to create this Italian staple during a fun-filled and hands-on cooking class using family traditions. Over the 2 hours, you will learn the perfect techniques for kneading, mixing ingredients, using the pasta machine and create special dishes. At the end of the class, sit down together and enjoy all the fruits of your labour, paired with a glass of wine.

Smokin Hot 'n Saucy BBQ at Somerville Wines

For something a little more casual pre order your Smokin Hot 'n Saucy Barbecue Meal for your Little Bit of Italy Broke dining experience. Setting up at Somerville Wines the team will have live music, cold drinks available whilst they’re cooking up your BBQ Meal. It’s recommended you pre-purchase so they can ensure they enough food available at the event.

Still Life Painting Masterclass at Winmark Wines

Contemporary abstract Artist in Residence Felicia Aroney's work has been a favourite of those who have visited the Winmark Art Gallery. Now, visitors to A Little Bit of Italy in Broke will have the opportunity to learn how to paint in a one hour Masterclass guided by Felicia. Choose from still life vignettes of Lemons, Vine leaves, Flowers and various small to medium size canvases allowing multiple paintings to be undertaken under Felicia's guidance. All paints, brushes and canvases will be supplied, as too a glass of 2021 Winmark Chardonnay to help the creativity flow!
