voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley

A luxurious Hunter Valley Hotel

Last year saw the voco™ Kirkton Park Hunter Valley, located in the heart of Pokolbin, refurbished and finished with stunning interiors by award-winning designer Greg Natale.

Covering 70 acres, the hotel is equipped with 70 rooms and a dedicated team of staff, ensuring each guest is well looked after and catered to. The voco™ Kirkton Park Hunter Valley prides itself as an ideal destination for weddings, conferences and functions, with a number of different rooms and areas to suit your specific occasion.

There are little hidden gems found throughout the entire property. There are pigs and chickens for guests to feed, a veggie garden with everything from beetroots to snowpeas to spinach, citrus trees, honey, and roses.

As we wandered through the property the bartender was even out collecting lavender for our cocktails…talk about freshly made!

The hotel is located close to popular Hunter Valley vineyards and attractions, but with facilities such as the indoor swimming pool and spa, gym, sauna, tennis court, bonfire, walking trails and in-house bar and restaurant you may find it hard to venture out.

After getting our bearings and settling into our room we made our way to the outside wood fire pizza oven for lunch, before heading into the Epoche Lounge Bar to try some of their new seasonal cocktails.

A bit of down time included a bottle of Shiraz on our balcony with stunning views of the Hunter Valley as the sun began to set.

We made our way to Locavore Dining for dinner, Locavore meaning a person who is interested in eating food that is locally sourced. Our three-course meal was incredible, catering for all dietary requirements.

Entrees included pork belly with Asian slaw, semolina corn gnocchi with corn custard, and beetroot salad with walnuts and labna. For mains we opted for the eye fillet steak, the market fish, and the pea and basil risotto. And although we were super full we couldn’t go past a dark chocolate fondant and brulee for dessert, yum!

Of course a girls night away wouldn’t be complete before changing into the novelty white robes, putting on a facemask (which we had brought up with us), making a green tea, and sitting back with a magazine!

The next day, I’ll admit still a bit full from all the food the day before, we made our way to breakfast. The buffet had just about every breakfast item you could imagine and I felt instantly hungry again. Sitting out on the deck, looking over the rose garden was the perfect way to finish our stay.

voco™ Kirkton Park Hunter Valley demonstrates consistent growth, introducing new initiatives and always looking to better themselves moving forward. For a luxurious and relaxing stay at the Hunter Valley, whether it is just for the weekend or the week, voco™ Kirkton Park Hunter Valley is a must.
