Corunna Station

The Homestead of Corunna Station

Corunna Station, based in the Hunter Valley, is the perfect country escape for groups of friends or family. Set on 100 acres of private rural property, Corunna Station use to be the largest working sheep shearing in the Hunter; established in 1880.

The entire property retains all of the original agricultural buildings including the Shearing Shed, Hay Shed, and the Wood Mill.

The Homestead is the newest addition to the Station’s accommodation, but you can also find additional accommodation on the property at The Cook’s House, and the Country House.

Sleeping 6 guests in 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, The Homestead celebrates the elegance of wide hallways, period features and long afternoon shadows on the generous wraparound verandahs.

The 11-foot ceilings, striking overhead fans, patterned tiles, schoolhouse lights and crisp cotton bedding are complemented by reclaimed and repurposed pieces from every era taking on new roles throughout the house.

Colonial, Danish and Victorian influences dance together effortlessly and create an interior of thoughtful surprise and delight for guests.

In Summer, the light-filled and spacious rooms of the guest quarters provide airflow and room to move, with each space opening effortlessly to verandahs where you can seek out your sunlit corner to inhabit with a glass of wine and let the hours slip away.

In winter, the custom kitchen will have you roasting and toasting with a fine bottle of Hunter Valley wine to your heart’s content whilst other guests lounge next to the open fire. With both bathrooms featuring a deep, shapely claw foot tubs, you’ll find every reason to soak and linger longer.

Current custodians, Angela and Gerard welcome you to Corunna Station, located on Hermitage Road, just minutes from the Hunter Expressway exit.
