When you walk into Mayfair Studios in Erina you will be struck by the elegant and impressive marble reception desk standing out against the chic white decor. And the same can be said of your nails (and your mood!) when you leave after being treated by owner Clare Mann and her team.

Specialising in incredible nail treatments and designs, Mayfair Studios also offers brow treatments, injectables and lashes, and tanning rooms out of their double shop front in Erina Plaza. The monochrome interior design is accented with pops of colour through cushions and towels to let the nails do the talking.

Clare has been a beauty therapist since the age of 16 but moved to the coast 4.5 years ago after spending most of her training and experience in London. After working from a room in a salon for 8 months to re-enter the workforce after the birth of her third child, Clare moved her salon services home.

“The business far outgrew our home very quickly and we decided to take the plunge into a commercial space. I looked for around 3 months, found the perfect spot, and opened officially 3 weeks before the 2021 lockdown. I was heartbroken but I just kept on and managed to employ my team during that time too, so we came back nice and strong.”

Clare says she has always loved how fast-paced and ever-evolving the industry is and found herself at 21 years old working in Mayfair, London discovering, training, and learning that nails were her thing.

“Mayfair represents the salon I worked in, in London. It was my home and the girls to this day are some of my dearest friends. My manager and I got pregnant and had babies at the same time. When we left [for Australia], the owner, soon after closed the salon.

“I consciously designed this salon to remind me of that place. Mayfair holds some of my happiest memories, from the day I got engaged to the day I found out I was pregnant with my little girl.”

This love for connecting over beauty and feeling good is felt by customers, with reviews cheering on Clare and her team for being friendly, open, and going the extra mile. The energy of communication whilst being in a creative space making women feel groomed and polished remains the drive and joy of her business.

After 18 years in the beauty industry, countless hours of training and learning, three kids, a dog, and an international move, Clare is proud to now have a salon of her own. In an Instagram post, she wrote

“It is time. Time to create a space for women to come, to have “me” time, to feel happy, and to have the perfect manicure and pedicure, to leave feeling like themselves again. Just a little chicer. I hope to recreate my happy space, right here on the coast. Because you all are my happy space.”
