Art, Coffee, Wine and The Fifth Lane come together at Studio Lane
Launching on Saturday 28th August, Studio Lane is a new addition to the Erina art, coffee, and wine scene.
Opening in the most difficult of times, Studio Lane threw open their doors despite lockdown with one of the owners Tom explaining,
“It was a very gentle opening but a very considered one. There was an awesome vibe on the weekend we opened, a lot of people we knew and didn’t know showed up, and we’ve spent the time since we opened getting to know the locals and regulars.”
So is it yourself and Amy, your partner, who are the business owners? Or is there more to the team?
We are a small family-owned business being myself and my partner Amy. German Salamanca is also our main man, who is the owner and founder of Slow Well. German has been a huge part of the making of Studio Lane, bringing his love and passion for specialty coffee.
We can’t wait to see our Studio Lane family grow as more people like German join our team.
Has Studio Lane concept been in the works for a while now?
Studio Lane has always been a vision but very quickly came to life after selling our previous cafe, Aggy’s Corner, in Sydney and moving to the Central Coast which is where Amy was born and raised.
Shortly after moving here, I drove past the warehouse and it strangely manifested from there when the space became available. We started with a completely blank canvas and built everything especially for the space.
Can you explain the concept behind Studio Lane and what visitors can expect when they drop in?
Studio Lane is a multi concept space with a specialty coffee bar, proudly serving Marvel Street from Byron bay. We have The Fifth Lane handmade Jewellery studio upstairs. We'll be hosting jewellery-making workshops and there will be a ‘hot seat’ desk hire, for those who want to continue making.
Another element of the Studio is ‘You Beauty‘ a natural wine delivery service, sourcing wine from Australian makers, which is coming soon...
We will eventually be lucky enough to serve you our delicious wines as well as host food, wine & art events in our space with our back courtyard opening soon. The Studio is available for hire if you wish to host a small gathering, brand launch, or need a minimal open space with natural light for photoshoots. We'll also be offering a list of suppliers to help you make your event extra special.
The coffee bar looks incredible, very simplistic but sophisticated, is that what you were going for?
Thank you! We were aiming to create a modern contemporary-style coffee bar with hard surfaces and a simplistic feel. We then finish it off with a delicious selection of locally made treats from Burnt Honey & Good Bits and we're serving specialty coffee by Marvel Street, that the Coast has not yet seen.
Can you tell us a little bit more about The Fifth Lane?
The Fifth Lane has been my passion business for over ten years of hand-making jewellery.
A couple of years ago I began to teach others the skill of making and started travelling up and down the coast doing this. Before Studio Lane it has always been an online store and now we are all under one roof.
Post covid we can’t wait to begin hosting our workshops again in our new space.
