Berkeley Vale is home to premium dry-aged meats and the Wagyu truffle cheeseburger
Whether you’re a burger connoisseur, a lover of premium meat, or just love great tasting food, then you need to take a drive to Moobi Valley in Berkeley Vale on the Central Coast.
Squeezed in amongst a row of shops on Lakedge Ave it’s easy to overlook Moobi Valley with the tiny space quietly going about its business. It isn’t until you step inside that you realise what a little gem you’ve discovered.
Moobi Valley isn’t your typical burger joint, not only do Scotty, Dom and the team make the best burgers, but they specialise in providing beautifully dry aged Black Angus Wagyu & Black Angus Beef. Sitting right behind the counter the dry-ageing fridge is where you can find the best cuts of premium Wagyu aged from 30 days, all the way to 100+ days, which means you can grab a burger and shop for a marble score 5 T-bone right up to marble score 9 wagyu brisket.
Owned by the husband and wife team Scotty and Dom Wilson, the duo had up until 2020 been regular stall holders at the Carriageworks Farmers Markets. For more than 10 years they had been serving up truffle wagyu burgers, long before the burger craze kicked in.
With the Carriageworks markets shut down in 2020 Scotty explained how 100% of their business disappeared overnight, but rather than sit around and see it all disappear they opened up their shopfront in Berkeley Vale, turning it into a takeaway and have never been busier.
‘Because everyone was ordering takeaway the business took off and now I’ve started suppling our meats into some of the local restaurants like Charred at Pocket Bar, and Yellowtail in Terrigal.’
Named after Scotty’s mum’s farm in Scone, Moobi Valley is all about sourcing the best meat from their own farm as well as from around the state, and serving it in the best possible way. Whether that’s a 30-day dry aged Tomahawk cryovac’d for you to take home and cook for yourself, or ready to go meals cooked and prepared on site.
Then, there’s the burger menu.
Pumping out some serious flavours, whether you go with the Moo, Cluck or Pulled variety you’re not going to be disappointed.
Their much-loved Wagyu truffle cheeseburger is a tried and tested formula which hasn’t changed in the last 10 years and is hard to go past.
Whether you’re a local or an out-of-towner you need to know about this Berkeley Vale one-of-a-kind takeaway shop.
