We love scoping out a new accommodation spot, and when they’ve got waterfront views and interiors that will make your jaw hit the floor, we just can’t help ourselves. Let us introduce you to Port Stephens’ newest member of the holiday home offering; Talm Beach House.

Nestled in Anna Bay, this luxury accommodation offering was launched on the 1^st of December, 2021, and is brought to you by husband and wife duo, Jenn and Ryley.

“Together we run and manage Talm Beach House. Over the last few years, we have designed and built three homes with Talm being our most recent and by far our biggest project to date,” Jenn shared.

The freshly built accommodation can cater for up to ten guests across four bedrooms. The double-story home features two vast living areas, a private courtyard, and of course, those iconic ocean views. Whether it’s a private family getaway, couple’s retreat, or gathering with friends; Talm Beach House is perfect for groups of all shapes and sizes.

With Ryley born and bred in Port Stephens, and Jenn originating from South Africa, the pair bring their own unique style and personality to the accommodation. Purchasing the block of land back in 2018, kicking off the build at the start of 2019, and completing the finishing touches at the end of 2021, shows the level of dedication, alongside much blood, sweat, and tears that have gone into Talm Beach House.

“We searched for a property to secure as a working venture that we could also use and visit to make memories with our own family. When we saw the block of land that Talm now neatly sits upon, the heartfelt connection was instant.

“This beautiful space overlooks the ocean, and it is positioned right in front of gorgeous rock pools! It was a common spot Ry would visit and go surfing and swimming with his friends. He made many childhood memories in this area of Port Stephens, so naturally, this pulled our heartstrings as we want the same memories to be made for and with our children. Hence, the creation of Talm Beach House.”

Working alongside local luxury architectural building company, Greenbuild Constructions, Jenn and Ryley utilised their own building and design expertise to curate Talm Beach House with each and every detail complete to a high standard and quality.

“Our main vision and inspiration for Talm was to create a space that felt highly luxurious and relaxing, but in the same breath, still comforting and family-friendly. We wanted a space that had lots of natural light, soft textures, and warm tones to make the property feel inviting.

“Being that we have the ocean on our doorstep, it was important for us to make sure we blurred the lines of indoor and outdoor living so that it felt like one. As a family, we love travelling, exploring new places and staying in accommodation that makes us feel like we are in a home away from home, so our aim was to try and bottle this emotion and bring it to life in Talm.”

The luxury accommodation offers a range of bespoke finishes throughout that makes the guest experience all that extra special. From the panoramic views of the ocean, custom furnishing and artwork, high-end finishes, indoor gas fireplace, luxuriously soft & high-quality linen, and luxury skincare; Talm Beach House is the getaway we all yearn for.

The bedrooms are split into the Master Bedroom featuring floor to ceiling windows, a daybed dedicated for whale watching as well as a walk-in-robe and private ensuite. Followed by three separate Queen Bedrooms all featuring built-in robes and luxurious linen.

Moving downstairs into the living spaces, you’re welcomed with the open plan kitchen, living, dining that opens out onto the outdoor dining area overlooking the beach. Perfect for entertaining, relaxing, and making memories.

Our favourite piece throughout the whole house is none other than this deliciously and exquisitely designed walk-in wine cellar.

“The walk-in wine cellar is definitely the favourite child of the house! It took Ry and I some serious Pinterest stalking, designing, and redesigning to come up with something that worked in the space and that we both loved!

“We decided to use the ‘dead space’ underneath the staircase as something spectacular instead of just a storage cupboard and hence, the walk-in wine cellar concept was born. It’s moody, elegant, and luxurious and stocked with some of Australia’s top reds!”

Now that we’ve covered all the information necessary to know everything you need to know about the offering of the house, no doubt you’re dying to know what the name Talm, refers to. Well, pulling on Jenn’s heritage, Talm is actually an Afrikaans word meaning ‘to linger’.

“It may be what our guests choose to do whilst on their stay at the beach house. Being South African, it was quite special to me to have a little bit of home in a sense in this beautiful venture.”

With the ocean quite literally on your doorstep, you can visit Talm Beach House and plan your days around crawling out of bed, making a warm cup of coffee, and lingering on the patio watching the waves roll in and the dolphins and whales drifting past.
