The Stunned Mullet

The views, the wine and the menu. The Stunned Mullet is a restaurant must do!

Few restaurants tick all the boxes when it comes to the complete dining experience. That is stunning views, an exquisite menu and brilliant service. So when you come across one, like Port Macquarie’s The Stunned Mullet, it’s a little exciting.

Lou Perri and David Henry’s award-winning restaurant is perfectly located across from Port Macquarie’s Town Beach, the large open windows offer guests the ultimate viewing platform, combined with a fresh and contemporary interior design.

On sitting down our waiter wastes no time in delivering the all important drinks menu, which is extensive to say the least. With a bottle of sparkling on order a quick peruse of the menu presents us with an enticing selection. The coastal location weighs heavy into The Stunned Mullets selection with much of the menu taking on a seafood flavour.

When it was time to place our orders our waiter takes time to talk through much of the menu, highlighting some of the more unique flavours, with the Albacore Tuna Sashimi and Glacier 51 Toothfish catching our attention.

Dessert is a must whether it’s cheese plate or something a little more delicate, our pick was the salty crème caramel, yuzu, spiced rum jelly, brown butter crumb, black sesame gelato and caramel cream.

Beautiful presentation, exquisite flavours and stunning views every day of the year, what more can we say other than The Stunned Mullet is worth the drive to Port Macquarie.
