Burgers, gelato & hot dogs at The Junction
The Hood Milk Bar has opened in the Junction! It’s time to chow down on their Southern Californian style menu featuring burgers, gelato, hot dogs, double fried chicken and hushpuppies. Yummo!
The Hood has risen from what was once a video store and the local fruito, to what is now a super cool, laid back, family friendly chilled out restaurant/café. There’s gelato and milkshakes up front and booth seating up the back.
Our favourites on this unique menu are the blackened Cajun fish with creole potato salad and charred lemon or the classic cheeseburger with beef, pickle, cheese, tomato jam and Dijon mayonnaise. With a side of mac ‘n cheese and washed down with a Nutella or peanut butter choc milkshake. I feel a food-coma coming on!
They also do breakfast including corn and haloumi hushpuppies and corned beef hash browns. With just about everything made from scratch on site (except the ketchup sauce which comes out of a bottle).
On to the coffee, and The Hood have enlisted Peaberrys to come up with a special blend just for them! You can’t get it anywhere else, it’s their interpretation of an upmarket Italian Espresso, with balanced clean flavours, along with strong and thick aromas.
The Hood brings to The Junction (and Newcastle) a unique dining experience which is kid and family friendly, laid back and bloody great food. Check it out one Summer’s night!
