This popular café now comes with lake views
Over the past 3 years, whether you have been there or not, you would have heard of Table 1 Espresso in Merewether. Not located in the most obvious spot George, the owner of the business, proved a lot of people wrong with his success near the car wash.
Utilizing the power of social media before many other businesses were, Table 1 Espresso has won multiple awards including being named Australian small business champion award winners in 2016 and finalists in 2017.
So it only made sense, with the right opportunity, to expand the business out to Warners Bay. Having been opened now for 5 months, Warners Bay has been thriving since the beginning.
“Everyone said don’t open there that place is jinxed, but that is what they said about here (Merewether) so I thought perfect, throw your next challenge at me.”
Located on the lake, the sliding bi-fold windows open up to beautiful views and a busy, thriving environment. Expect to see the same extensive menu as Merewether with everything from Moroccan scrambled eggs, calamari and halloumi salad, burgers and of course their signature waffles and pancakes!
Plus the Warners Bay location is licensed so dinner might be on the cards in the near future!
George and his brothers have grown up surrounded in the hospitality industry, with his parents owning different restaurants and cafes for years. He credits his hard working business ethic to his parents, “my life is my job, you have to love it”.
With all three of the brothers now owning their individual businesses George admits, “In a brotherly kind of way we have been rivals our whole lives, do we encourage each other though? Yes. But my brother Peter loves coming into my business and telling me what I’m doing wrong (laughs), he is the older brother.”
With a strong social media following, happy staff and delicious food Table 1 Espresso only continues to climb higher up hill!
