The new fashion and homewares store in Wickham came to life after friends, Lauren and Brigita wanted to create a fashion, lifestyle, and homewares store in the heart of Newcastle.

The name, House of Lita, is a combination of both of their names, encompassing products that they both love. 

House of Lita is a retail store – with ladies, children, lifestyle, and homeware pieces sourced mainly from Morocco, Bali, nationwide, and even Brigita’s own kidswear line, Little Indah’s.

Both the girls are not from Newcastle originally but settled in Newcastle with their partners who are Newcastle locals. Lauren can’t rave enough about the location and how happy they are to bring such an amazing store to our city.

“I think the idea behind the store being in Newcastle is that all the things that we loved, we knew that you couldn’t buy in a retail space here in Newcastle. Everything that we’ve got and all of the brands aren’t available anywhere else in Newcastle. We wanted to have that point of difference.”

The ethically sourced, earthy vibes of the store lure you in as you drive on past, but it’s the quality of the pieces that will keep you going back.

It’s only early days for the girls and their store, but they have big plans, 

“This is kind of a starting point for us, and we definitely want to evolve. Hoping to get some ceramics and jewellery and bits and pieces…we’d love to have workshops in the future, with like ceramicists or potters, or whatever it might be. Even hold events here.”
