East End Hub

Perfect for a midweek long lunch

The team behind East End Hub is Anthony and Lizzie Kocon who have lived and breathed the restaurant life for as long as they can both remember. Anthony’s experience is long and wide, spending many years Talulahs in The Junction, amongst others, it's this knowledge that's reflected in the dining experience you receive at East End Hub.

East End Hub

East End Hub is a hustling bustling cafe, 7 days a week, with diners able to choose to sit inside, take a bar stool at the bay window or be seated outside to soak up the sea air and watch the passers-by.

Lizzie said, that after years of working for other people they felt that the time was right to step out and do their own thing wanting to put their own spin on the dining scene in Newcastle.

From within the beautiful open kitchen Anthony has crafted his own take on the modern Australian menu and features dishes such as the hand-rolled gnocchi duck breast with spinach, beetroot, goat's cheese and pine nuts, or the house-smoked ocean trout with a corn fritter, pink lady, fetta and baby herbs. You'll also find the hub caesar and good old steak sandwich.

Anthony’s preference for only ever serving Australian seafood ensures that you’ll never be served anything other than the very freshest and best seafood and guarantees that a market fresh fish of the day makes its way onto the menu every day. Anthony also likes to source his produce locally (as best he can) working with local suppliers to bring diners the very best produce available.

East End Hub

Whilst the menu is always the star Lizzie said it’s the team behind herself and Anthony that makes the East End Hub tick so smoothly. We love the location, atmosphere and menu and recommend it, whether for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
