Lake Macquarie Cruises

Time to jump on board the M.V. Lady MAC

Ever wanted to see the Lake from a different perspective?

Well, regular scheduled cruises are returning to Lake Macquarie just in time for the Summer!

Nova Cruises, which has been operating in Newcastle since 2006, has finally hit Lake Macquarie with cruises ranging from 90-minute journeys of the Western end of the lake to half-day expeditions travelling as far as Wangi Wangi.

“Our tourism team has been receiving a growing number of enquiries and requests from people who want to get afloat on Lake Macquarie and see it from a new perspective,” Cr Kay Fraser, Mayor of Lake Macquarie said.

Lady MAC, the vessel you will see about on the lake, previously operated in Port Macquarie and has been refitted and modernised.

“I saw the decline in charter vessels operating from the lake and have always thought there is an opportunity to venture down that way,” General Manager of Nova Cruises, Peter Hanrahan said.

A great move for local tourism and for locals dying to get a look at the Lake from the water. The cruises depart from the public wharf at Booragul and are officially up and running.
