Meet Boydell’s, family owned and operated by Daniel and Jane and their growing family, the boutique vineyard located on the banks of the Allyn River is home to rows upon rows of grapevines and the luxuriously romantic glamping experience; Boydell’s Secret Escape.

What started out as just a dream and a conversation two years ago, Boydell’s Secret Escape is the romantic getaway the Hunter Valley was screaming for. The eco-friendly African safari tent sits secluded atop a hill overlooking the properties vineyards and lush grazing paddocks. 

Imagine soaking up in their indulgent copper bath, waking up to breathtaking views of the great outdoors, snoozing under the silk mosquito canopy in a luxury king size bed with the finest linen. The entire 52 square metres of the tent is head to toe covered in the finest of details.

Luxe accommodation with a difference, you could be enjoying wine by the fire and waking up to the sunrise over the hills or even a fresh morning rinse under the outdoor shower.

If you’re a history fanatic, Daniel will teach you about the vineyard’s rich history – which is arguably the site of the first vineyard in New South Wales. Settled by Charles Boydell in 1826, where he and wine veteran Dr Henry Lindeman (Lindeman Wines) first established wine grape production in the area.

Ruins of Charles’ original home can still be seen and even walked through if you’re game. Like Charles, Daniel crafts quality, boutique wines from the grapes grown on this picturesque and historic farm.

In the warmer months, and if you’re game you can get out onto the Allyn River on one of their paddleboards or settle in and get yourself a private chef or in-house massage to relax in amongst natural surrounds.
